5Wouldn’t leave home without it
By Pat
Systematically, my partner and I are traveling throughout Europe, one country at a time. There is no way I would travel without Rick Steve’s book. And guess what? Every American we met also was carrying Rick’s book. His insight gives us the courage to not travel with a tour group and go on our own. And he’s right; there is a whole different world out there when you are not traveling in a “protected” group. Kudos to Rick for giving us the low-down.

5Even Easier to Travel with on the Kindle
By Jess
At first I was a little cautious about buying a travel book for my Kindle touch. I was especially concerned that the maps and diagrams would not interpret well. As soon as it downloaded though, my worries were expelled. The maps and all the pictures are clear and can even be enlarged for easier viewing. And of course, this is a Rick Steve’s book so all the information and travel tips are there, now he just comes in a smaller size.

4Wonderful for Sightseeing
By Francophile
Wonderful detail and good advice. We took this book (the 2011 edition) with us when we did our extended tour of Europe last summer. Be sure to call and check opening days and times for various sights. Mr. Steves is 99% accurate but things change from time to time. Also, we had 0% luck with the guesthouses and small hotels he recommends. They must be booked well in advance.
